In this instance I wanted to explore a minimal rendition with pastel on paper of a traditional subject. I was hoping for an uncluttered statement about timeless objects.

I found these twirling petals from a pawpaw tree irresistible. I placed them in a dessert spoon to provide a sense of scale.

It is perhaps an attempt to allow just the present object of beauty before me to have all my attention without the clutter of past, present, or future concerns.
